Mold 101:
The Health & Financial Risks
Molds can cause a wide variety of adverse responses
in people depending on the type and quantity of mold
present, and the individual’s unique responses to the
mold.
Typical symptoms of mold exposure include:
respiratory problems nasal and sinus congestion; red,
burning eyes, blurred vision and light sensitivity;
coughing and sore throat; shortness of breath;
headaches and many more. Many studies have
attributed mold exposure as a major cause of
respiratory problems including asthma and sinusitis.
Infants and young children, those with a weakened
immune system and the elderly are at an extremely
increased risk for adverse health effects due to mold
exposure. |
Many public schools have indoor-air quality problems
and toxic mold is a growing problem in schools that
could be hazardous to children’s health.
All forms of mold are toxic, but there exist varying
degrees of toxicity in different species and cases that
determine the severity of its effect on one’s health.
Only a mold inspection will be able to identify these
and yield remediation of the mold.
Traditional methods of mold detection are often timeconsuming
and costly: yielding only about a 20-30%
accuracy rate. Since most mold hides in dark, damp
places that are hidden within the house, the
traditional methods neglect to pinpoint its exact
location, and require tearing through drywall to see if
there is mold present. MoldDogs™ will identify and
locate mold in a demolition-free, more cost-effective
and time-efficient inspection. |

Our Services We take a multi-platform approach to mold
inspection in homes, office buildings and schools.
Inspection Not only do we use the latest in mold-detecting
technology and equipment, but our highly-trained
team of Inspector and MoldDog™ perform the most
thorough inspections.
Sampling If mold is detected, air samples are taken from
various areas of the home or building. Surface
samples are taken of any visible mold and these
samples are examined in a lab to identify the type
and level of toxicity of the mold present.
Reports After a complete and thorough inspection and
examination of samples, an extensive report is
provided to each client with a detailed explanation.
Recommendations for methods of remediation are
also recommended.
Costs
Our inspections vary by cost based a number of
factors including time taken to inspect, square
footage of the area to be examined, and the
number and type of samples taken (if required). If
you have any questions or would like to schedule a
mold inspection, please don’t hesitate to call us at
